Macdonald all ready for first
hit-out at home track

After 18 months of
blood sweat and tears, the new car is mobile and by all reports
is looking great. Nathan was able to make it Brisbane
Speedway on Saturday night for a few practice runs before the
first official race meeting at Charlton on the 7th November.
After a very
successful run at the dyno through the week,
Macdonald was glad
he put the effort in to get to Brisbane after finding some
gremlins already. The first run Macdonald struggled with
the steering being too heavy, after the pit crew chief (dad)
modified the power steering pump the Linmac Automotive VZ
commodore was all good to go.
Next time out saw a
rather embarrassing exit on the back of a tow truck, after
Nathan lost steering (come very close to the wall)! An
easy fix was achieved back in the pits and ready to go again.
Next time out the car felt very nice and the engine felt strong.
The final run we played with the set-up to see what this baby
will do, all in all a very good shake down run. The whole
team is pleased with the run being the first time on the track.
Nathan will be all ready to race come next weekend for the
season opener at Charlton Raceway. Nathan will be taking
on his biggest rival (brother Shane) as well as a host of other
tough competitors. If you can make it to the race track
come down and say G'day in the pits and check out the new car.
