Macdonald debuted his new Linmac Automotive VZ Commodore last
night, and what a great night of racing it was.  Nathan had
no issues with the car and was on the pace from the first heat.

Nathan
Macdonald debuted his new Linmac Automotive VZ Commodore last
night, and what a great night of racing it was.  Nathan had
no issues with the car and was on the pace from the first heat.
15 cars turned up for the first race meeting of the season.

				Heat 1 saw a very
greasy track with Macdonald started out of position six.
Nathan moved his way past three cars into 3rd place behind
Ashley Barron and Robert Trapp respectively which is where they
				finished.

				Starting from pole
position in heat two, Nathan got away to a great start, only for
the race to be called for a restart after an incident in turn 4
involving a few cars.  Once again Nathan was able to get
away to a good start, taking the lead into the first turn with
Robert Trapp closely following.  Trapp applied some
pressure to Macdonald but Nathan was able to cross the line
ahead of Trapp and Ashley Barron.

				Heat three saw a
very racy surface, with Macdonald starting out of position 3.
Macdonald followed Ashley Barron through on the start, with
Macdonald trailing Barron for a few laps before Macdonald found
a way through up the inside of Barron to take the lead.
Macdonald went on to win comfortably ahead of Greg Worling and
				Ashley Barron.

				With some great
results in the heats, Nathan acquired enough points to start out
of position 2 beside Robert Trapp, with David Jacobi out of 3,
followed by Ashley Barron, Shane Macdonald and Greg Worling.
As the lights went green for the 20-lap feature race Macdonald
raced Trapp into turn one, but made an error and drifted back to
4th, then coming into turn three Macdonald was hit and headed to
the wall, luckily the mud thrown up to the wall from all the
racing cushioning any impact with the wall.  Macdonald
continued on but had fallen back further to 7th place.

				After settling into
the race Nathan moved forward into 5th place behind Ashley
Barron and Shane Macdonald.  Greg Worling was running 2nd
until he retired onto the infield.  Barron and the two
Macdonald brothers put on a great display of racing, fighting
for position.  Shane slipped past Barron into 2nd with
Nathan following suit.  Shane and Nathan then fought for
2nd place, swapping positions and dicing through lapped traffic.
Robert Trapp took the win with Nathan crossing the line half a
car length ahead oh his brother Shane.

				Nathan was stoked
with 2nd place in saying "I really didn't expect for things to
go so well early on, the car felt great".

				Nathan is unsure of
when the next race will be due to work commitments.  Shane
will be racing at Maryborough next weekend the 14th November for
Round 1 of the Fraser Coast Series.
