Another podium

Speedway on Saturday night (20th February) driving Shane's QLD
Title winning car, was a much welcomed reward leading up to the
National Title being held in Tasmania in two weeks time.

				This unique 30/30
event coincided with Round 4 of the Exide Batteries Nambour QLD
Series.  Shane and Nathan both competed in two heats each.
Nathan finishing 2nd in his first heat after surrendering the
lead to Aidan Raymont on the final lap, then bringing the car
home in 6th in heat two.

				Shane raced from
11th on the grid to finish in 6th, and with a pole position for
the final heat, Shane caught a big rut in the first turn, which
resulted in the right rear spring coming dislodged forcing the
				car onto the infield.

				Qualifying from 13th
place, Nathan was to drive the first 30 laps.  Nathan
settled into the car well finding his way past several cars to
wind up in 6th place.  With a 10 minute break to change
tyres, top up the fuel and change drivers, Shane was strapped in
ready to roll.  Shane was off to a flyer, moving into what
was 4th place in the second lap until Gary Pagel got crossed up
out of the hairpin coming across in front of Macdonald with some
heavy contact, dragging Shane back to 7th position.
Unfortunately there was no stoppage, forcing the QLD Champion to
fight back for those positions lost.

				Shane moved into 4th
place, searching for a way past Dennis Shallcrosse.  After
a frustrating race, Macdonald drove to a different line and made
a pass for 3rd around the outside and down the back straight.
Macdonald pulled away but the lead of Todd Doyle and Mark Pagel
was too great, having to settle for 3rd place.

				Todd Doyle and Allan
Nash were the eventual winners, with Glenn and Mark Pagel in
				2nd.

				Shane and Nathan are
now focussing on preparing for the trip to Tasmania.
