Saturday
Night saw Macdonald Racing head off to Maryborough for the final
round of the Exide Batteries Nambour Queensland Modified
Production Series in which Shane and Nathan were in positions 8th
and 10th respectively. Both Brothers were hoping for
a good night to climb the point’s ladder.

				Heat 1 for Shane was
the first production event for the night on a greasy track with
really only 1 racing line. Shane started out of position 5 and
managed to bring the car home in 6th place, not where
we wanted to be but still obtaining valuable points.

				Nathan had to do it
all from the back of the pack in his heat.  After a slow
start on a greasy track Nathan eventually got some clear track
and moved his way into 4th place by the end of the race.

				Shane started out of
position 3 for heat 2, the track was still fairly wet and Shane
Managed to come home in 3rd position.

				Heat two for Nathan
saw him start from 6th position, with the Maryborough track
taking a liking to Nathan's car allowing him to advance forward
into 3rd, while race leader Chris Jensen retired, this left
Adrian Stott and Macdonald to battle it out for the lead.
Nathan making many attempts to make a pass stick, but Stott
closed the gate quickly with Macdonald settling for 2nd.

				The final heat for
the night Shane had some work to do starting from position 8. 2
Racing lines were now evident as Shane made a few outside passes
to come home in 5th position.

				A front row start
was on the cards for Nathan's final heat beside Steven Zahl.
Zahl managed to maintain the lead on the outside around the
first turn.  Nathan applied plenty of pressure to Zahl
during the race but a faultless run by Zahl saw Nathan finish in
				2nd.

				The feature race
come out and the track was looking really good, Nathan having a
great run in his heats qualifying out of position 4 while Shane
had gained just enough points to start the 30 lap Feature from
position 16. The race got underway and on the second lap there
was a stoppage as Price and Zahl had come together while they
were in 2nd and 3rd respectively,
officials deeming Zahl the cause of the incident sending him to
the rear, this set the stage for what was a great battle for the
top 3 positions between Aiden Raymont, Steve Price and Nathan
Macdonald. All 3 cars swapping positions on many occasions, but
by the end of the 30 lap event it was Raymont on top followed by
Steve Price and Nathan Macdonald. Back in the pack Shane had
found a groove and started using the high line to great effect
and was rounding cars up on the outside. Shane eventually
finding himself in 4th spot by the end,  almost on
				the tail of Brother Nathan.

				This was a good
result for Macdonald Racing proving the cars still have what it
takes to mix it with the best. Shane and Nathan finished up in 7th
and 8th respectively in the Queensland Series. Nathan
also missed one round of the series earlier in the season and
was please to finish in 8th. Shane and Nathan will be preparing
the cars in the next 2 weeks for the Queensland title at Gympie
as Shane Prepares to defend his title while Nathan will attempt
to keep the trophy in the family.
