New guest driver for Macdonald
Racing
Monday
January 31, 2011
This
Saturday Night 5th February at Charlton Raceway will see a guest
appearance by a driver filling in for
Shane. Nathan and Shane's father, Lindsay Macdonald will
be strapping into the #27 car of Shane's, which is ironically
the number Lindsay raced with since starting his speedway career
in 1980.
After taking Shane's
car for a practice run a few weeks ago, Lindsay couldn't refuse
when offered to race Shane's car this coming weekend.
After dialling in some decent laps last time out, Lindsay will
be looking to go even better after a few modifications have been
done to the car to make it more comfortable.
After officially
retiring in the year 2000, Lindsay stepped out of the car which
was at the time a VL commodore powered by a Holden V8 253CI
engine, and handing it over to his son Shane. Now, 11
years later he steps back into a VS Commodore powered by a 3.8L
V6.
Although having been
out of the seat for 11 years, don't discount Lindsay for a top
10 result, or what would put a bigger smile on his dial, beating
his son Nathan home across the line. Although Lindsay has
set his own goals for the weekend saying "As long as I don't
finish last in my heats I'll be happy!"
Racing is starting
from 3.30pm due to large numbers nominated, so make sure you get
there early and come down and say hello as we have plenty of
stickers and posters to give away!
