If only I
hadn't raced so many races this season maybe the car
would have lasted the distance? If only it had happened
the weekend before!? But anyway you look at it that's
the way the cookie crumbles, (or in this case the
motor). Nathan Macdonald had a premature end to his
night in Rockhampton Saturday Night after coming from
7th place in the second heat and was running 3rd behind
Danny Lennon with 1 lap to go, the engine oil light come
on as the motor had no oil pressure. Later discovering
a broken oil pump drive shaft.
This was
the last night of racing for Macdonald this season and
it was disappointing the car couldn't have lasted a few
more races! Macdonald managed to finish 2nd in his
first heat. The motor still seems to be ok but the
whole car will stripped and checked out for the start of
the new season.
Congratulations to Craig Torr who took out the title
convincingly, after surviving an early charge from Jason
Boss. Boss suffered a flat right rear after contact
with Torr while taking the lead. Many other hot
contenders were also put out with flat tyres including
Aaron Smithwick and Joel Thomas. Danny Lennon was
running 2nd when he come together with another car and
lost his left rear wheel.
