Yet another season is
done and dusted for Nathan Macdonald, with Macdonald having had a successful
season of racing in 2005/2006. Nathan won the Charlton Raceway seasonal point
score for the second year in a row, and finished 3rd in the East Coast A Grade
point score. |

If only I hadn't raced
so many races this season maybe the car would have lasted the distance? If only
it had happened the weekend before!? But anyway you look at it that's the way
the cookie crumbles, (or in this case the motor). |

Nathan & Shane Macdonald teamed up at Brisbane
International Speedway on Saturday night to compete in an endurance race using
Nathan's car. The race format saw one driver do the first 25 laps, then the
cars come onto the infield and swap drivers. |

Nathan Macdonald headed
up to Rockhampton on the 20th of May. The racing was going to be competitive
with about 30 cars being nominated. A lot of cars wanting to try the track out
before the Super Stocker title there in June. |

The Australian
Title for East Coast A Grade was held at Kingaroy Speedway on Saturday the 29th
of April, with a good field of 11 cars turning up for the prestigious event.
Darran Lester was the story of the night, debuting his brand new BA Ford Falcon,
qualifying on pole and winning the title. Darran is awaiting on his V8 engine
to put in, so just to make up numbers he put a 6 cylinder in the car.

Saturday the 15th April
Nathan Macdonald raced at Yandina Speedway, this night only having 3 heats as
the final for East Coast A Grade was to be on the following night at Yandina,
but Macdonald travelled back to race at Charlton on the 16th to contest the club
championship. |

Macdonald made one of the worst mistakes in his career on Saturday night at
Charlton Raceway Toowoomba. While leading the feature race after starting
from 4th, Macdonald came up the front straight to greet (what he thought) was
the chequered flag. |

The Australian
Outlaw Title was held in Mackay on the weekend, with Nathan Macdonald running
into bad luck during the night. After starting 7th in the first heat, Macdonald
got to the lead within a few laps, only to pop the right hand front tyre off the
rim after sliding across a rut.

After last weekends
disastrous result, Nathan Macdonald returned to Charlton Raceway to win his two
heats and the feature race. The first heat was a little wet and a few bumps
were starting to form already, the car didn't feel all that good but we managed
to get around Peter Campbell into 1st. |

venue for another East Coast A Grade race. A Grade was mixed with another class
called the limited sedans for the night. Nathan's night had ended before it even
started. |

The running of the
Australian Super Sedan Title was plagued with rain on Friday night, no races had
been run when the rain come down and the night being washed out. The 2-night
meeting was to be crammed into Saturday night. Dark clouds loomed out in the
horizon but the rain held off for the event to be run. |

A very long weekend was had
by all, especially after trekking north up to Mackay to contest the Australian
Outlaw Title. The Friday night race was cancelled due to excessive rainfall.
The decision was made to leave early Saturday morning to try and make it back in
time to contest the East Coast A Grade race at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast
that night. |

After heavy rain the night
before, the granite surface of Yandina was set to be a very rough track. Nathan
Macdonald was to start out of position 5 for heat 1. Macdonald advanced through
to 3rd place after 2 laps, and made a move on Pat Dennis up the back straight,
only to have under steered up to the wall and brush the wall with the back of
the car, Dennis then got back underneath Macdonald into 2nd. |

Nathan Macdonald continued
his dream start to the season after winning all three races at Charlton Raceway
on Saturday night. After rainfall throughout the week, it was still not enough
to dampen the clay track surface. Dust was flying off the track after the first
race. For heat 1 Peter Campbell was to start from pole, with Nathan Macdonald
out of position 2, Shane Hollyman out of 3 and Norm Townsend 4. |

The Charlton Raceway once
again lit up its lights for the first race meeting of the season in what was a
humid Saturday Night. The Sprint Sedans only having a few cars turn out for the
first meeting, which eventually saw the club cars and Sprint Sedan classes being
combined. Nathan Macdonald in car #32 was to start outside pole, with Shane
Hollyman starting out of position 1. |

Nathan Macdonald had a
successful night of racing at Yandina Speedway, taking out the Sunshine Coast
Championship, which he had previously won 2 years ago, but was then called the
City of Brisbane Title. Nathan had a front row start for the first race in pole
position. Shane Hollyman was on the outside, Travis Hollyman out of position 3,
Martin Cross out of 4, followed by Terry Medcalf, Alan Williams, Peter Campbell
and Andrew Roberts. |

Nathan Macdonald went out to
Charlton Raceway on Friday night, to take his VS Commodore for it's first run
this season. After only 5 laps, Macdonald had to shut the engine down after
flames engulfed in and around the engine. |
