A new year........another win
Monday January 1, 2006
Another year has gone by and Nathan has finished, and started
the year off with a win at Charlton Raceway held on New Years
Eve. The track surface was the best it has ever been, and held
up right up until the last race.
With only a few cars showing, Nathan
started on the front row of heat 1, and got the jump on Peter
Rogers into the first turn and drove on to lead the race from
start to finish with Rogers not far behind.
Heat
2 Macdonald was once again off the front row. Nathan raced into
the lead in turn 1 but drifted too high as Darran Ciesolka drove
underneath and into the lead. Macdonald kept with Ciesolka but
couldn't make a move and had to settle for second.
Macdonald was off pole for the
final, the track was smooth and very fast. The car is just
starting to be where it should be with the handling, as it
doesn't seem to handle as good on the wetter tracks, but is a
rocket come feature time when the track dries out, but a few
changes and Macdonald was very happy with car after tonight.
Nathan drove straight to the lead into turn 1, and never looked
back as he lead from start to finish. The car was exceptionally
good on what was a very fast track.
After some work setting up a new axle arrangement, the whole car
should be fast, and reliable and Nathan is looking forward to
the Australian Outlaw Title in Mackay in less than a months
time.
The
next race will be Charlton Raceway on the 20th January, then the
following weekend at the Australian Title in Mackay. It looks
like there will around 50 cars which will be great to see and
Macdonald is looking forward to the return visit.
