Nathan
Macdonald had another solid performance at Charlton Raceway
on New Years Eve, taking out two heat wins and a feature
race win.
Macdonald was not happy with the cars ability to handle
rough tracks before the race meeting, as last weeks track at
Yandina gave the car a real work out, and the surface at
Charlton on Saturday night was no exception. After playing
around with shockies and other components before hand, the
#32 VS Commodore seemed a lot more confident through the
ruts, it seems that the change was for the better.
With only a few Sprint Sedans
turning up, the improved sedan class was joined together
with Sprint Sedans. Nathan got a good start in the first
heat off the front row beside Peter Campbell, but a very
complex track saw wet and dry patches scattered over the
track, as well as the sun shining in your eyes coming into
turn 3 made it hard to pick the corner. Macdonald won both
his heats, with Peter Campbell coming in for 2nd, and Norm
Townsend 3rd.
The Mac1 Designs commodore started from pole position in the
feature race, Macdonald leading from start to finish.
