Smithwick too good in Rocky

Three cars from the Toowoomba region, that being Peter Rodgers, Rodney Pammenter and Nathan Macdonald, travelled about 700km up to Rockhampton to contest the Queensland Super Stocker Championship.  The racing was held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds, and this being their first time out on the Rockhampton track.

The very last race meeting at Brisbane International Speedway for this season was held Saturday night, with different races held.  There were 2 practice heats held for East Coast A Grade, and then "King of the Ring", which is a 20 lap race with about 24 cars in it, from all different classes.

The running of the Australian Title was held last night in Brisbane.  After 3 qualifying heats last weekend for the title, there was to be another heat, and a Pole Shuffle for the top 5 cars.

Last night saw the 3 rounds of heats run for this years Australian Title, with another two heats, possibly a 6 lap dash and a 15 lap final on the 5th of June.  Nathan Macdonald was struggling for horsepower all weekend, as he was using a stand-in engine for this weekend, and couldn't have his racing engine ready in time. 
Macdonald's luck has come to an end

The last round of the tri-series was held at Yandina Speedway on Saturday night.  For the first heat Nathan started from position 2 beside Steve Conway.  Conway got away to a better start and beat Macdonald into the corner.  Macdonald tried to catch Conway but it wasn't until about the sixth lap that Macdonald found a way past.

Saturday night at Brisbane International Speedway, the East Coast A grade sedan club held the last race meeting for seasonal points at the Brisbane Track.  In the first heat, Nathan started from the rear of the field.  Macdonald made his way up to 3rd position when the yellow lights come on because Steve Conway had stopped on the track after a racing incident.

The Labour Day long weekend saw the Macdonald Brothers racing around at different venues.  On the Friday night Shane headed to Brisbane International Speedway to race.  Shane drove well in the heats to qualify on the front row of the grid for the feature race.  Macdonald showed good speed after making improvements to his car through the week.  Shane won the feature race comfortably opening up a good lead.

Saturday night saw Shane Macdonald race at the Clive Berghofer's Charlton Speedway, while Nathan travelled to Brisbane to contest the first round of the tri-series.
Langton unbeatable at Charlton

Over the Easter break, Shane and Nathan Macdonald raced at Charlton Raceway for the Saturday and Sunday night.  There were to be 3 heats on Saturday night and 1 heat and a final Sunday night.  Peter Rodgers pieced his car back together from his roll over in Brisbane the other week, but could only make it for Sunday night.
Macdonald clinches Queensland Title from his brother!

Saturday night's racing at Brisbane International Speedway, saw the Queensland Title for the East Coast A Grade up for grabs, with Linmac Automotive sponsoring the event.  The defending champion, Shane Macdonald, tried his best to retain the title, but after rebuilding the engine through the week, a slow oil leak was discovered on the Saturday afternoon, which plagued his chances of retaining the title.

Another weekend of racing at the Clive Berghofer Charlton Raceway, saw Shane Langton take out another Feature race win.  For the first heat, Shane Hollyman was on pole with Shane Langton beside him on the outside, followed by Dennis Bullpitt, Rodney Pammenter, Nathan Macdonald and Shane Macdonald.

After heavy rain Friday, and forecasts of scattered rain for Saturday, some thought that the Speedway in Brisbane would be cancelled, but luck was on our side once again, and the rain just held out.

Saturday night saw a good turn out for the East Coast A Grade club in Brisbane, with 15 cars turning up to race.  In the first race both Shane and Nathan were off the rear beside each other, but a confused start saw all the cars spread over the track.

Saturday night saw the running of the Brisbane Speedway Track Championship.  After a few repairs to the cars from Mackay the weekend before, both Macdonald cars were ready to go.

Over the Australia Day long weekend, Nathan and Shane, along with other Toowoomba drivers and Darren Lester from Brisbane, travelled up to Mackay to compete in the Australian Outlaw Championships. 
Macdonald secures another Feature win

After a very wet weekend, Speedway was a sure bet that it would be cancelled, but come Saturday afternoon, the skies were blue.  The scheduled meeting at Brisbane Speedway went ahead.  Shane wasn't racing as his car wasn't quite ready, but is very near completion.  Nathan was in attendance, and ready to make the most of it as his brother was out of action.

On Saturday night Nathan raced at the Carina Speedway, Bundaberg, with the East Coast A Grade Sedan Club.  Shane was unable to compete as he had not finished repairs to his car from the previous weekend.

Saturday night saw Macdonald Racing race at Brisbane once again.  With a very difficult track to race on, most drivers found it hard to pass early on, with the track being a "one lane track".

Macdonald Racing Team along with Rodney Pammenter, travelled up to Bundaberg to race with the East Coast A Grade.  A track with long straights, provided the cars with tremendous speed.  East Coast A Grade were allowed hot laps, to get a feel of the track and ensure their cars are working properly.  The first race produced a tacky track, which provided for some good racing.

On the weekend the Macdonald Racing Team, along with Rodney Pammenter from Toowoomba journeyed up to Gladstone Speedway to hurl the big V8's around the showgrounds track.  After a 6 hour drive, we were nearly ready to hit the sack, but as soon as race time come around, we were ready to go!

Macdonald Racing Team ready for practice

This coming weekend will the see the #27 car of Shane Macdonald and the #32 car of Nathan Macdonald travel to Brisbane International Speedway to test out the cars at a practice meeting.  Both cars will be carrying new passengers, this will give them a chance to feel what it's like in a speedway car, and will also give the drivers to see how their car is handling.
