Central Queensland Modified Production Title - Nathan Macdonald |

In what was
Nathan's biggest win in his Modified Production career,
Macdonald was victorious on the weekend taking out the CQ Title
at Blackwater Speedway. For something different, Nathan
will recall all the action throughout the weekend, and how the
win came about. We started the 700km trip on Friday night
to Blackwater, making it over half way up that night, we
travelled the rest of the distance on Saturday. |

Gympie 30/30 Rained out |

Macdonald
Racing ventured up to Mothar Mountain on Saturday Night the 28th
May, that being Gympie Speedway. This time however only
taking one car, Nathan's VZ Commodore. This event being
the T-Mac Auto Spares 30/30. A race in which two drivers
share one car, competing in two qualifying heats each,
determining the starting positions for the final. One
driver will complete a 30 lap feature race, while a driver
change happens after that to complete the next 30 laps. |

A two night
show over the 30th April/1st May long weekend was held for the
2011 QLD Modified Production Title, with siblings Nathan and
Shane Macdonald finishing 4th and 5th respectively in the 40 lap
feature race. Todd Doyle was victorious from Victorian
Mark Carlin and Rodney Pammenter. |

The Easter
long weekend saw the running of the Australian Modified
Production Championship at Lismore Speedway, NSW. Nathan
had some mixed results bagging two heat wins over the two nights
of racing, while finishing 6th and 9th in his other heats.
Nathan's last heat win propelled him from 20th position to an
8th place start in the 40 lap final. |

With around
25 nominations for this event, numbers were down a little on
what was expected, but the quality field contained no less than
4 previous Australian Title holders. The competition sure
was stiff and was going to test the best drivers. |

The Inland Tsunami Flood Appeal meeting held last night at
Charlton Raceway (5th February) was well received, despite a
late afternoon shower which forced management to miss several
events as they desperately tried to get the track back to a
raceable condition. |

This Saturday Night 5th February at Charlton Raceway will see a
guest appearance by a driver filling in for Shane. Nathan
and Shane's father, Lindsay Macdonald will be strapping into the
#27 car of Shane's, which is ironically the number Lindsay raced
with since starting his speedway career in 1980. |

Maryborough Australian Open

After a months break from racing due to the ongoing wet weather,
Macdonald Racing headed to Maryborough for the New Year, as
Shane attempted to regain his Australian Open Crown that he won
last year. The Australian Open being the richest Modified
Production Event in Australia. The event attracted cars
from all over Australia with around 80 nominations. |

Nathan takes maiden feature

Charlton Raceway Toowoomba was the place to be on Saturday
night, with the electric atmosphere making up for the blistery
cold wind. The night saw Nathan Macdonald take out his
maiden feature race win in Modified Production up against a
class field of 25 cars with Shane coming home in 6th position.
With the lead up to event, Nathan also appeared on Win News on
Friday night after a short interview to help promote the race
meeting. |

A promising start to the season for Nathan Macdonald saw him
snare 3rd place in the Toowoomba Steering & Suspension 50 Lap
event held at Charlton Raceway on Saturday night.
Macdonald had to fight his way to the front after qualifying
from position ten on the grid for the 50 lap event. |
